Coach Announcment

Miller Football Supporters- Hopefully everyone enjoyed the holiday season and is having a great start to the New Year. I wanted to send out some announcements and updates regarding Miller Football as we turn the page to 2016. Thanks for all of your support and everything you do for Miller Football.

Powerlifting season is approaching and we hope to have a great turnout of players participating in Powerlifting. All players in grades 9-12 are eligible to participate as long as they are in 7th hour weights. If your son did not enroll in 7th hour weights and wants to participate in Powerlifting please make sure that he enrolls back in the class.

We have had a number of seniors stay in 7th hour weights, which is outstanding. All seniors are welcome to stay in 7th hour weights. It is important that everyone understands that all students in 7th hour weights participate in the weight program that the entire class is participating in.

We have instituted a post workout nutrition program where players are can get a peanut butter sandwich and chocolate milk following workouts. The workouts have been going extremely well and this is just another avenue to try and help the boys reach their maximum potential by giving them the opportunity to put a quick protein and carbohydrate load back into their system after a workout.

In order to better communicate with parents and players we have set up a Remind account for Yukon Football to use for announcements. We definitely want all of our players to sign up and parents are encouraged to also so everyone has access to any necessary announcements. In order to sign up simply text to 81010 and enter @yukonfb in the message

I am working on a 2016 calendar that will include all necessary dates for the 2016 season. I hope to have this completed within the next 2 weeks. The boys will be given a hard copy and I will also forward it through email to the QBC.

As I mentioned the players are off to a great start to the 2016 season. I know this past season was a difficult one, in terms of wins and losses, and we will continue to work toward the ultimate goal of a state championship here at Yukon. Thanks for all you do.
